Above photo shows a C-2A of VRC-30 "Providers" which I photographed at Davis-Monthan AFB in April 1993 on the day before the open day. The squadron was established with C-1A and C-131F in October 1966 as VR-30, and it was redesignated to VRC-30 in October 1978. C-2A Greyhound was introduced to VRC-30 service in 1983/84. Please note the yellow squadron badge of the VRC-30 appeared behind the cockpit.

These photos show a C-2A of VRC-50 "Foo Dogs" parked on the flight line at Atsugi in November 1976. Please note the USAF's "Military Airlift Command" badge (see photo at left) placed on the engine nacelle side. Please note also....(1) the tail marking is placed on much higher position than the one shown above (pictured in 1970), (2) nose is painted in black, (3) lower side of the fuselage is NOT painted in white but in light gray and (4) upper surface of the lowered flap, I mean the forward half portion, is not painted in red on this aircraft.

The squadron was formed at NAS.Whidbey Island, WA in Steptember 1967 and disbanded in September 1995. The TC-4C Academe was introduced to VA-128 as A-6 bombardier/navigator trainer in March 1968.

These photos show DC-130As 570496 & 570497 which I photographed at Mojave airport during 1990-92. These two aircraft were ex-UASF's DC-130As 57-0496 and 57-0497. After they retired from the UASF service, they both were stored at MASDC(bornyard at DM) in January 1979 with inventory codes CF025 and CF024 respectively. In March 1979, they both left MASDC to the US.Navy(VC-3 at NAS.North Island) as BuNo.570496 & 570497 respectively with the tail code "UF". They both transferred to Tracor Flight Systems, Inc. at Mojave for contract drone operations in 1985. They were transferred again to AVTEL Services, Inc. at Mojave for contract drone operations in 1990. So, when I took above photos at Mojave, these DC-130As were operated by AVTEV. I visited Mojave airport more than ten times during 1990-1992 and I always found a total three DC-130As (above two plus BuNo.560514) parked on the AVTEL ramp.

Top photo shows a KC-130F in natural metal finish with white top, while the remainning two KC-130Fs were painted in light grey overall with white top/fin. The unit was stationed at MCAS.Futenma, Okinawa at that time, and they moved to MCAS.Iwakuni in July 2014 with KC-130J.

Above photos show C-130s of the Blue Angeles Team in different paint scheme and markings. Top photo was taken at Komaki airshow near Nagoya in November 1971 when the F-4J team flew over to Japan for the first time(and the only time too). 2nd photo shows another KC-130F of the Blue Angeles photographed at El Centro airshow in March 1990, which was in low-visibility paint scheme with the BIG number "9" on the tail. 3rd photo was taken at Pt.Mugu airshow in July 1991. Color scheme of this aircraft is similar to the KC-130F shown on the 2nd photo. These two aircraft could be the same aircraft with the same Bureau Number. Bottom photo shows a TC-130G of the Blue Angeles which I photographed at Meridian airshow in Louisiana in May 1998. The paint scheme had changed from Low-vis gray to High-vis blue.

(above & at left)
These photos show a C-131F of Mildenhall's Base Flight which I took at RAF St.Mawgan (airshow) in August 1974. This aircraft was sent to AMARC(boneyard at DM) in 1986 after retirement. In 1998, the aircraft departed from AMARC to be reused in civil aviation for unique spray operation in South Carolina. The aircraft was fitted with spray booms to combat the relentless mosquito population for Beaufort County Mosquito Control with civil registration "N8149P". .
本機は現役を引退し1986年にAMARC(DMのボーンヤード)へ送られました。
