I took the above photo at Fox Field Air Attack Base, CA. in January 1992. This Tanker 82 was delivered to "Milestones of Flight
Museum" in Lancaster some time later and she is still displayed in the museum. The museum is right next to Fox Field base.

The above photo shows Tanker 86 (C-119C) parked at
Hemet in June 1990, and in two years later (on 17SEP92)
its civil regi N13744 was cancelled. She is now displayed
at "Castle Air Museum", CA. The left photo shows a nose
section of a C-119, but its civil regi is not known.
上の写真はHemetのタンカー86で90年6月に写しました
その２年後の17SEP92には本機の民間レジが抹消されて
いますので、現役最後の姿となります。この当時Hemet
飛行場の裏庭(?)には既に用途廃止になったC-119が数機
放置してありました。その内の１機の機首の写真が左の
写真です。上の写真のタンカー86は幸い現在でも加州の
"Castle Air Museum"に展示されています。

The upper right photo shows C-130A Tanker 82, which was taken at Hemet in June 1990. It carried two titles on forward fuselage,
"Hemet Valley Flying Service" on lower side and "Securite Civile" on upper side. They are just working on the paint work on the
tail. The upper left photo shows their paint work and they are now air brushing the balck paint to make the tail number "82" in
black with white trim. The lower(immediate above) photo shows the same Tanker"82" N135FF, but the lower one was photographed
three years later in 1993. You can recognize some external changes during 1990-1993. The 1993 photo shows....(1)Black tail number
"82" was changed to WHITE "82", (2)Black "N135FF" was changed to WHITE "N135FF", (3)The title "Hemet Valley Flying
Service" was erased from the forward fuselage.("Securite Civile" title was still retained in 1993 photo). Sadly, Tanker 82
crashed on 13AUG94, it was only one year after I took the above photo.
上段２枚の写真はJUN90にHemetで写したタンカー82ですが、ちょうど尾翼の機番82をエアブラシで黒に塗っていました。黒の82
には白縁が付いていました。前部胴体には赤い横帯の上と下に"Securite Civile"と"Hemet Valley Flying Service"が表記されて
います。Hemet Valley FS社が本機をフランスに派遣して"Securite Civile"のミッションを請け負っていたと思われます。上段２枚
の写真を撮影した約３年後に同じHemetで写した同機(N135FF)の写真が下段（直ぐ上）の写真です。この３年間で外観上の変化点
がいくつか確認できます。（１）尾翼の機番82を黒から白に変更、（２）胴体後部の赤帯のデザインの変更に伴い民間レジは赤縁付き
黒から白に変更、（３）"Securite Civile"の表記は残されていますが、"Hemet Valley Flying Service"の社名は消された、等です。
残念ながら本機は13AUG94に墜落事故で失われました。それは上の写真を写してからわずか１年４か月後の悲劇でした。

I took the photo at left at Hemet on 23APR93 and it already carried its civil regi
"N132FF" with Montana ANG's tail markings and its serial #56-511. After three
years in 1996, I photographed the same a/c as shown above. She still retained
the USAF's lizard camouflage, but tanker number "83" was added. Tanker 82 was
operated by Hemet Valley Flying Fervice. Please note the anti-glare black paint
on upper nose rademe on both C-130s on the photo. The black area was designed
in the same shape on both aircraft.
左の写真は23APR93にHemetの整備地区で撮りました。初めて見たモンタナANGの
マーキングに感動して写したのを思い出します。既にN132FFの民間レジが表記
されていました。その約３年後に同じ機体を同じHemetで撮影した写真が上の
写真です。迷彩は残されたままタンカー番号が大きく表記されていました。HVFS社
の２機のC-130が並んでいますが、機首レドーム上の反射避け黒塗装が全く同じ形
に塗られているのにつまらない興味を持ちました。同じ顔にしたかったのでしょう。

I took the photo at left in June 1990, and this C-130 already
carried its civil regi N138FF in white letters. I photographed
the same a/c two years later in 1992 as shown above. The above
Tanker 88 was in standard paint scheme of "Hemet Valley FS".

既に民間レジのN138FFが白で表記されていました。それから約
２年経った1992年に写した同機の写真が上の写真です。タンカー番号

The above two photos show C-130A "N116TG" operated by T & G Aviation (later renamed as International Air Response).
I took both of them at Chandler airfield (Goodyear) near Phoenix, Arizona in 1992(top) and in 1994(immediate above).
External differences in between two photos are....(1) The Tanker number had been changed from "30" to "82", and (2)
The title "Securite Civile" was newly added on forward fuselage. Sadly, N116TG crashed in southern France on 06SEP00.
上の２枚の写真は同じ機体"N116TG"で、いずれもアリゾナ州フェニックスの郊外南側にあるChandlerの飛行場（Goodyearと呼ばれて
ました）で1992年（上段の写真）と1994年（下段の写真）に写しました。この２枚の写真を比べると、基本のカラースキームは
変わりませんが、垂直尾翼の機番が30から82に変更され、94年には"Securite Civile"の文字とマークが記入されています。本機
は"Securite Civile"に派遣され地中海沿いのマルセイユ空港をベースに南フランスで飛んでいたと思われますが、06SEP00にマル
セイユ北方約200kmで墜落事故を起こし失われました。

photographed at Chandler near Phoenix Arizona.

空港で写しました。両機ともT&G社の基本カラースキームに塗装されていますが、尾翼の機体番号や衝突防止用の翼端オレンジ
塗装がまだ施されておらず、小生的にはちょっと物足りません。ちょうどノーマークのF-4Jを写した時の様な不満足感が残りました。

The above photo show C-130A "N118TG" of T & G Aviation, still wearing the lizard camouflage with ANG markings on the fin.
The civil regi "N118TG" can partially be seen on the rear fuselage. Please note the outboard engine was missing. I did find
a photo of this N118TG on the internet, which was displayed at Mesa(ex-Williams) Airshow in March 2012 with T&G's (currently
IAR's) white paint scheme.
まだリザード迷彩を残したままのC-130Aですが、本機の第二の人生を告げる民間レジのN118TGが後部胴体に表記されています。
上の写真では主翼の影で下３桁が充分判明しませんが現地で確認しています。エンジンも１機外れているし、一見スクラップヤードで
廃却を待っている機体のようにも見えますが、何と本機は２０年後の2012年メサ(元Williams AFB)のエアショーで展示されています。
本機はその後T&G社で森林消火機として再生され、上の写真で紹介したT&G社の標準塗装を施されました。メサのエアショーの写真
を見ると本機は今でもT&G（現IAR)社の白の標準塗装のまま現役に留まっているようです。

The above photo show C-130A "N131HP" of Hawkins & Powers. I took this photo at Fox Field, CA on 04NOV93 and it was a
VERY busy day all day long with about ten tankers coming in and out quite frequently. The above N131HP is fully loaded with
retardant and has just taxied out from the ramp, and a P2V-7 Tanker 99 in the background is taxing back to the ramp after landing.
The N131HP was sold to IAR(Int'l Air Response) in 2006. Most likely this N131HP was used as a spares plane in IAR at Coolidge, AZ.
本機は加州Fox Fieldで撮影したHawkins & Powers社のN131HPです。この日は非常に忙しい１日で１０機前後のタンカーが頻繁に
発着を繰り返していました。上の写真は消火剤を満タンにしてちょうどタキシングを始めた所ですが、後ろには戻ってきたP2V-7が
ランプに向かっています。本機は2006年にIAR(Int'l Air Response、元T&G)社に売却されました。IAR社は恐らく部品取りのために
本機を購入したと思われますが、現在でもアリゾナ州Coolidge飛行場に保管（翼を外され野ざらしですが）されています。

I took the above photo of Tanker 63 (TBM Inc.) at Paso Robles, CA on 18AUG91. The USAF serial 60473 was still retained on
the camouflaged fin. This a/c was later repainted in light grey and white (upper fuselage only) with yellow bands.
まだリザード迷彩を残したまま黄色の帯を巻いたTBM社のC-130A、N473TMです。民間レジに使われている473はUSAFシリアルの
下３桁をそのまま使っており、機首にも空軍現役時代の0473が残されています。本機はその後迷彩塗装を剥がされて、全面ライト
グレイ地に胴体上面のみ白に塗り替えられました。翼の黄色い帯はそのまま残されています。

These two photos (above and left) show C-54D Tanker 13 of
Aero Union parking at Fox Field, CA in 1990. She left Aero Union
in 2001 and was sold to Buffalo Airways, Ltd. at Hay River Airport
NT, Canada with C-FBAK. Most likely she still sits on Hay River AP
for spare parts to support the rest of Buffalo's DC-4 fleet.
これら２枚の写真はアエロユニオン社のC-54Dで、Fox Fieldで
写しました。本機は2001年にカナダのBuffalo Airwaysに売却され
NW準州のHay River飛行場に移動しました。どうやらBuffalo社の
他のDC-4を飛ばすための部品取りに使われたようで、現在でも
Hay Riverに保管（野ざらしですが）されているようです。

The Tanker 15 was operated by Aero Union when I took the above photo at Fox field on 04NOV93. In the background of the above
photo, you can find a P2V-7 of Aero Union and a C-130 of Hawkins & Powers. Tanker 15 was repainted later into the P-2/P-3
style red-white-red paint scheme of Aero Union. At the end of 2005, The tanker 15 was sold to Buffalo Airways Ltd. in NT,
Canada and she continued wearing the red-white-red scheme in Canada with the same Tanker number of "15". The new civil regi.
"C-FBAP" was assigned to the Tanker 15 and she flew from Hay River Airport, NT. Canada.
上の写真はFox Fieldで写しましたがバックにはエアロユニオンのP-2やHawkins & PowersのC-130も写っています。平和時には
見られない機体ですが、有事には外から集まって来ます。写真のタンカー15はｱｴﾛﾕﾆｵﾝの所属ですが、同社のC-54は当時全て
上の写真の通り赤い尾翼と赤い窓帯を標準塗装としていました。しかし当機はその後同社のP-2やP-3と同じく赤/白/赤の塗装
に塗り替えられました。そして2005年末にはカナダのBuffalo Airways Ltd.に売却されましたが、赤/白/赤の塗装と『15番』は
カナダでもそのまま残されました。カナダではC-FBAPの民間レジでNW準州のHay River飛行場をベースに運用されました。

The above photo was taken at Fox Field in "Peace time" in 1995. Tanker 119 "N406WA" was operated by ARDCO. It was sold
to Florida Air Transport based at Opa Locka, FL in 2006, and it was modified back to cargo transport without a belly tank.
She was then sold to Jet One Express in 2011(?) and she is still flying around Miami-Puerto Rico-St.Maarten area in 2012 with
the same civil regi "N406WA".

operated by ARDCO. The above photo was taken from the
Hemet Tower and you can see a C-130 of Hemet Valley FS
in the background. The photo at left shows under surfaces
of the rear fuselage and please note the orange coloured
belly caused by the release of the retardant.
The Tanker-151 "N460WA" was sold to Florida Air Transport
in 2010 and it was modified back to cargo transport. She flew
from Ryan Fld.AZ(ARDCO) to Opa Locka,FL(FAT) in FEB10.

上の写真はHemetのタワーから写しましたが、本機はARDCO社

るとC-54の前脚右辺りにH-1ヘリが見えます。当時Hemetでは
H-1が常にこの場所で発進待機をしていました。本機は2010年にFlorida Air Transport社に売却され貨物機仕様に戻されました。
FEB10にARDCO社のベースRyan Fld(AZ)からFAT社のベースOpa Locka(FL)に移動し、現在でもマイアミを中心に飛んでいるようです。

early 1980's. The external water tank was removed in 2009 and she was sold to Florida Air Transport. She flew from Ryan Field,
AZ (Home of ARDCO) to Opa Locka, FL (home of AFT) in MAR12.

The above photo, Tanker-166, was taken at Hemet in June 1990. Tanker 166 had been operated by Hemet Valley FS since OCT85
and she was sold to Hawkins & Powers in JAN93. N90203 was then sold to Aero Flite in ??. This a/c has been sitting at Kingman
Airport in AZ for many years from the mid-2000's with no rudder, no left outboard wing.

Hawkins & Powers社に販売され、その後（時期不明）更にAero Flite社に転売されました。本機は2000年代中頃からアリゾナ州の

In the mid 1970's, a total of 20 ex-USAF O-2As were selected for future CDF use from the boneyard at DM. They were placed
in service in 1976 and successfully served CDF for more than 20 years until replaced by a fleet of OV-10 Broncos. They were
initially painted green overall with orange bands, and later (at the beginning of the 1990's) they were repainted in white overall
with red bands. The above O-2A "A12" was in old green scheem which I photographed at Hemet in June 1990. It was sold in 2002.
1970年代中頃にCDFはDMのボーンヤードに眠るUSAFのO-2を再利用するため、40機前後のO-2を調査しそこから20機を選びました。
20機はFresnoに運ばれて再整備され、1976年から各基地で運用が始まりました。CDFのO-2は20年以上運用された後、2000年代
初頭にOV-10ブロンコに任務を引き継ぎ、CDFでの運用が終わりました。配備当初は全面緑にオレンジの帯を巻いていましたが、上の
写真を写した1990年前後から新しい全面白（プラス赤帯）の新塗装に塗り替えられました。上の機体はまだ旧塗装ですが、その後
塗り替えられ、CDFの任務を解かれた後の2002年に売却されたそうですが、その後の詳細はわかりません。

The BLM started using OV-10 Bronco earlier than CDF, and I took photos of the BLM's OV-10 in two different paint scheme.
The above photo shows the one scheme and the photo below shows the other color scheme. The above "N646" was later transferred
to CDF for spares and then it was handed over to the OV-10 Bronco Association Museum in Fort Worth, TX sometime in
the mid 2000's. Please note the plane name "City of Fairbanks" in small black letters on the nose.
BLM（US Bureau of Land Management）はCDFよりも早くから森林消火対応のためOV-10の運用を始めました。南加州にはあまり
飛来せず写真を撮る機会は限られましたが、ツーソン(アリゾナ)でカラースキームの異なる機体を1機づつ撮ることができました。
夫々の機体の写真を上と下に１枚づつ貼ります。上の写真では機首に小さく"City of Fairbanks"と黒で書き込まれています。
上のN646はその後（時期不明）CDFにスペア用として引渡され、2000年代中頃にはOV-10 Bronco Association Museum（TX州の
Fort Worth)に譲渡されました。恐らく今でもUSAF塗装で展示されているはずです。
