I built an Airfix's Buccaneer S2B kit in 1/48 scale about ten years ago (in 2007).
At that time, I did not take any photos during the process of assembling/painting of this kit, so I can only upload some pictures of the finished model as shown below.
Before starting my Buccaneer project, I researched several RAF Buccaneers displayed at aviation museums in England including the one at "Cold War Jets Collection" in Bruntingthorp.
I used photo-etched parts from Airwaves and Eduard for the wing fold mechanism, the interior and the air brake details.
The surface mold of this Buccaneer kit is very heavy on the contrary to the sharp mold of the recent Airfix kits
So, I erased all the recessed panel lines and rivet/fastener lines by filling with super glue,
and after the gule was cured, I sanded the surface to smooth it.
Then I engraved all the recessed panel/rivet lines by using the needle-type scriber.
This was really the most painstaking work in the assembling process.
It was difficult for me to mix colors for the "desert pink" of the Gulf War since I never had a concrete image of the tone for the desert pink.
Most likely, I should have mixed the color more pinkish and a little darker.
エアフィックスの1/48のバッカニアは、今から10年ほど前（恐らく2007年ころ）に作りました。
当時はまだこのHPを立ち上げる前だったので、製作途中の写真は全く撮っていませんでした。
よって、このページでは、完成品の写真のみ掲載させていただきます。
このキットを組み立てる前に、英国の博物館で数機のバッカニアを調べてきました。その内の一機が"Cold War Jets Collection"(Bruntingthorp)に展示されていた右上の写真です。
今回はアフターマーケット品として、Airwaves（エアブレーキ）とEduard（主翼折り畳み部とインテリア）のエッチング部品と、モデル・アライアンスのデカールを使いました。
最近のエアフィックスは素晴らしくシャープなモールドになりましたが、このキットの凹モールド（パネルラインやリベット）は太くてダレていて最低の部類に入ります。
このままではとても見られないので、一旦この凹モールドを瞬接で埋めてから、ケガキ針でパネルラインやリベット/ファスナーラインを彫り直しました。
その後に気が付いたのですが、凹モールドを埋めるのは、伸ばしランナーの方が簡単ですね。胴体の上下貼り合せは合いが悪くて苦労しました。
機体のプロポーションは良いと思いますが、キットのデキはかなりヒドイ部類に入ると思います。
湾岸戦争参加機のデザートピンクは、我々日本のモデラーには馴染みの薄い色です。
実機の色を見た人も限られていると思います。
勿論小生も確固とした色のイメージを持っておらず、勝手なイメージに基づいて調色するしかありませんでした。
今になって思えば、もうちょっとピンクっぽく、もう少し暗い色味にした方が良かったかなと思いますが、まあ今ごろ何を言っても後の祭りですね。
