I built a Hasegawa's RF-35 Draken kit in 1/48 scale about nine years ago (in 2009).
At that time, I did not take any photos during the process of assembling/painting of this kit, so I can only upload some pictures of the finished model as shown below.
I entered "IPMS/USA National Convention/Contest" held in Columbia, SC in August 2016 with this Draken model(see photo at above left),
and this Draken model won the "Second Place" (see photo at above right) within the category.
The Danish Draken was painted in "mat" dark green overall during the 1970s,
and the green color heavily faded in a patchy fashion.
I wanted to finish my model in such a faded(discolored) appearance.
The dark green paint applied on the Draken changed from the mat paint to gross paint in the early 1980s(?),
and after that the gross green paint did not faded at all.
The Hasegawa kit is so good that it is fairly smooth and straightforward to build it.
I added a lot of rivet lines on all over the surface to give more precision sense to the Draken model.
I used some after-market parts including resin cockpit set, resin wheel bays and some photo-etched parts.
I separated the elevon portion from the wing and I glued it in the "lowered" position, since the elevon is lowered on the ground without engine power.
ハセガワのRF-35ドラケン(1/48)は、今から9年ほど前（2009年ころ）に作りました。
当時はまだこのHPを立ち上げる前だったので、製作途中の写真は全く撮っていませんでした。
よって、このページでは、完成品の写真のみ掲載させていただきます。
2016年になって、IPMS/USAの全米コンテスト（南ｶﾛﾗｲﾅ州ｺﾛﾝﾋﾞｱ）にこのドラケンを持ち込みました。
とても地味で目立たない存在でしたが（左上写真）、とても運良くカテゴリー内で２位に入賞できました（右上写真）。
1970年代、デンマーク空軍のドラケンは、暗緑色の塗装面が激しく退色していて、まだら模様になっていました。
そのまだら模様を再現したくて、70年代仕様のドラケン（デンマーク呼称はRF-35）を作りました。
ハセガワのキットは実にマニアックにできていて、80年代に入ってデンマーク空軍が採用した近代化改修の部品もちゃんと入っています。
しかし、80年代に入ると（たぶん近代化改修に合わせて）、表面塗装をつや消しから光沢塗装に変更し、ほとんど退色しなくなったため、
小生は改修前の形で組み立てました。
このドラケンのキットは良く出来ていて、ほとんどストレス無くすらすらと組み立てられます。
但し、表面にはリベットが全くモールドされていないため、実機の細部写真を見ながら、機体全面に細かいリベットを打ちました。
これで、ノッペリした主翼平面も引き締まったような気がして、ちょっと自己満足しました。
アフターマーケットの別売部品も使いました。レジン製のコックピットと脚収納庫、及びエッチング部品も部分的に使っています。
エレボンは切り離して、下げた状態で取り付けました。地上でエンジンがオフの状態では、垂れ下がってしまうようです。
