Lockheed SR-71
I photographed the following three SR-71s(64-17973/975/976) at aviation museums in the US in November 2012.
The following walk-around photos are combination of these three SR-71 photos, and
I put the last three digits of the serial numbers (973/975/976) superimposed on each and every photo for your reference.
2012年11月に米国の航空博物館で撮影した計3機のSR-71（64-17973/975/976）の細部写真を以下に掲載致します。

"64-17973" Blackbird Airpark, Palmdale, CA

This aircraft "#973" made its first flight on 08FEB67 and it was assigned to the 9th SRW at Beale AFB, CA.
The aircraft was ferried to Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan on 27SEP69, and it was operated over Southeast Asia and the Far East from Kadena during 1969-1971.
It returned to Beale AFB on 08JUN71.
The aircraft was damaged while being demonstrated at RAF Mildenhall Air Fete in May 1987.
On 21JUN87, the aircraft returned to Palmdale to estimate cost of repairs, and the decision was made to retire the aircraft.
It was transferred to the Blackbird Airpark in September 1991.
本機は08FEB67に初飛行を行い、その後ビールAFBの9th SRWに配備されました。
27SEP69には嘉手納基地へフェリーされて、1971年まで東南アジアや極東方面でのミッションに使われていました。
その後08JUN71にビールAFBに帰還しました。
1987年5月に英国Mildenhall基地のエアショーでデモ飛行を行った本機は無理なマニューバーにより機体に損傷が発生したようです。
21JUN87に米国（加州Palmdale）に戻り、修理の見積もりを行った結果、本機は用途廃止に決まったそうです。
リタイアした本機は1991年9月にこのエアパークに移管され展示機となりました。
屋外展示ですが、砂漠のド真ん中ですので機体の保管状況は悪くありません。
真っ黒な機体を直射日光の下で撮影できる貴重な撮影機会です。

This aircraft "#976" made its first flight in May 1967.
"#976" was one of three SR-71s used on the first operational deployment to Kadena AB, Okinawa, and
it made the first operational SR-71 sortie on 21MAR68.
During its career, this aircraft accumulated 2,981 flying hours and flew 942 total sorties (more than any other SR-71),
from Beale AFB, Palmdale, Kadena AB and RAF Mildenhall.
It made the last flight on 27MAR90.
The aircraft was flown to the USAF Museum in March 1990.
本機は1967年5月に初飛行しました。
この"#976"号機は嘉手納に展開した最初の前線派遣機三機の内の一機で、21MAR68にはSR-71として最初のoperational sortieを行いました。
27MAR90に最終飛行を行うまでに、本機は本国のビールAFB、パームデール、嘉手納、RAFミルデンホールをベースとして合計942ソーテイをこなし、
合計2,981飛行時間を記録しました。942ソーテイはSR-71として最も多いソーテイ数だそうです。
本機は最終フライトとして1990年3月にデイトンの空軍博物館（ライトパターソンAFB）に飛んで来たそうです。
左写真の如く非常に暗い展示館に真っ黒な機体が展示されており、写真撮影には最低の環境でした。

This aircraft "#975" made its first flight on 13APR67.
"#976" is a veteran of the Vietnam War and it flew 82 sorties during the conflict.
The aircraft made its last flight in February 1990 from Beale AFB to March AFB, California for display at March Field Air Museum.
It was displayed in a fairly dark hangar at the time of my photography in 2012 and it was far from good condition for walk-around photography.
本機は13APR67に初飛行し、ベトナム戦争では嘉手納から82ソーテイを行ったそうです。
ビールAFBでリタイアした後、1990年2月に本機は最終フライトとしてビールからマーチAFBに直接飛来して、マーチAFBに隣接するこの博物館に搬入されたそうです。
この機体は当初屋外に展示されていましたが、小生が撮影した2012年時点ではかなり暗い展示ハンガーに置かれていました。
ここでも細部写真の撮影はかなり厳しい撮影条件でした。因みに、この博物館は三脚や大きめのカメラバッグは持ち込み禁止となっています。

This aircraft "#933" made its first flight on 27NOV63, and after only two years it made its last flight in August 1965.
The aircraft is displayed right in front of the San Diego Air & Space Museum on top of the three pillars as shown on the photo at left.
So, I was only able to photograph under surfaces of the aircraft.
本機は27NOV63に初飛行を行い、その僅か約二年後の1965年8月にラストフライトを行った短命な機体でした。
本機は左写真の如く、San Diego Air & Space Museumの正面入口前に三本の柱に支えられて展示されています。
これでは機体下面を撮るのが精一杯でした。
"60-6924" Blackbird Airpark, Palmdale, CA

This aircraft "#924" is the first prototype A-12 which made its first flight on 26APR62.
The aircraft is displayed right next to the SR-71 "64-17973" (which is shown above) at the "Blackbird Airpark" in Palmdale.
本機は26APR62に初飛行を行ったA-12プロトタイプ一号機です。
本機が展示されている加州パームデールの"Blackbird Airpark"には、本ページの上段で紹介したSR-71 "64-17973"と隣り合わせで本機が並べられています。
よって、A-12とSR-71の違いや類似点をその場で見比べることができました。
