A friend of mine in Japan was so keen on building a 1/72 Boeing RB-47H model from Hasegawa's old B-47 kit in 1/72
scale. So, when I visited the USAF museum in Dayton OH in November 2012, I took walk around photos of the RB-47H
displayed in the museum for him. The RB-47H used to fly from Yokota AB near Tokyo during the 60's, and old aviation
photographers in Japan used to take approaching/taking-off shots of the RB-47Hs from the outside of the fences of
Yokota. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos of the RB-47H in Japan because all the RB-47Hs had already returned
back to the US when I started taking photos at Yokota in 1968.
小生の友人にRB-47Hが大好きなモデラーがおりますが、ハセガワの古い1/72キットを使い、彼に正確なRB-47Hを作って
もらおうと思い、応援の気持ちも込めて2012年11月にUSAF博物館へ行った際にRB-47Hの細部写真を写してきました。
日本の写真マニアの先輩の方々が横田で多くのRB-47Hの写真を写しています。それらの写真には後部胴体下面の大きな
レドームの直ぐ前に特徴的な長いブレードアンテナが写っていますが、空軍博物館のRB-47Hにはそのアンテナが見当たりません
でした。しかし、その取付け部とおぼしき部位にパッチが張り付けられており、それがアンテナを取り外した跡かも知れません。

As you can see from the photo at left, the aircraft was
displayed in a dark hangar with limitted spot lights. So, it
was a little difficult to take clear photos of the details.
In any case, I did make my best efforts to take sharp and
clear photos as much as I can.
左の写真の通り、RB-47Hは薄暗いハンガーの中に、
限られたライトに照らされて展示されています。よって
各部の細部写真を鮮明に写すのは困難な場合も多々
ありましたが、台座に乗せられて一段高く展示され
ていたため、下面の撮影には都合が良かったです。
