Convair F-106A/B Delta Dart

#1) F-106B (57-2513)

Yanks Air Museum
Chino, Calif. USA
photographed on 19NOV12 & 21AUG13

This F-106B used to be one of the chase planes for the B-1B program and it is now preserved and displayed at Yanks Air Museum in Chino, California in very good condition. Unfortunately, the tail hook was removed (missing) from this F-106B. I had a permission to go beyond the rope placed in front of the a/c and I was able to take walk-around photos all around the a/c including the upper surfaces of the wing.

#2) F-106A, s/n. 80787

National Museum of the USAF
Dayton, OH. U.S.A.
photographed 10APR04

When I first visitted the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, the F-106A was displayed without any fences around it and its weapon bay was in open position with four Falcon missiles. It was my only opportunity to photograph the inside details of the weapon bay. I returned to the AF Museum several times after that, but (unfortunately to me) I found that the F-106A was surrounded by fences all the time. I did build a Monogram 1/48 F-106A after some time, and naturally all these weapon bay photos helped me a lot.

#3) QF-106A, s/n. 90043

Davis-Monthan AFB (Air Show)
Tucson, AZ. U.S.A.
photographed on 04APR05

This QF-106A was displayed at Davis-Monthan AFB during 2005 airshow. This a/c was the ANG's last serving F-106, and also one of the last two QF-106. It was flown to AMARC in 1998. Due to the above background, this a/c still retained memorable special markings on its fuselage.

#4) F-106A, s/n. 90123

Museum of Aviation
next to Robins AFB, GA. U.S.A.
photographed on 12AUG05

This F-106 was displayed at the front of the museum, right next to the parking lot. It was well-painted and still in good condition.
