This is one of the three Vulcans displayed in the USA. This
Vulcan has the tailpipe shroud of the 200-series powerplant.
The XM573 was transferred to the SAC museum in 1982 after
retirement from the RAF.
本機は米国で展示されている３機のバルカンの内の１機です。
英空軍を退役した後、1982年にSAC博物館に引き渡されました。
本機のジェットパイプはオリンパスMk.200系の（細長い）もの
が装備されており、機体の塗装は色が褪せてはいますが、
オリジナルの塗装とマーキングが残されているようです。
How to use the above drawing, 上図のご説明
I photographed each and every section of the under surfaces of this Vulcan. Each photo below has a cross-refernce number
in red at top right(or left) corner of the photo. This number corresponds to the same # on the above drawing, indicating
the area the photo depicts. Also, each photo has an arrow in white or in black pointing the direction of "Forward".
So, I hope you will see what part of under surfaces each photo shows. I'd like to mention one more thing. Like many other
museums, the SAC museum did some rework on this Vulcan by applying "wire net" over various openings such as intakes
and vents. You will find some of them in the photos below.
以下細部写真の最初の五十数枚は全て胴体及び左翼下面の細部写真です。各写真の右上又は左上に赤で通し番号を
打ちました。その番号と上図の番号とを照合させてください。夫々の写真が機体下面のどこの部分を写したのか、これで
おわかりと思います。更に、各写真には白又は黒の矢印を書き込みました。この矢印は機体の前方を示しています。また、
機体アチコチの開口部には鳥の侵入を防ぐために金網が張られています。ちょっとシラケますが、米国では一般的です。

#2) XH558

I took these photos at Waddington Air Show in July 2014. This Vulcan was the only one flyable Vulcan at that point,
and it made a couple of demonstration flights during the 2014 Air Show. The aircraft was painted in gloss green & grey
camouflage overall. This "XH558" was converted to the tanker version "Vulcan B.Mk.2(K)" in 1982 and it was converted again back to
the Vulcan B.Mk2 in 1985.
本機は2014年7月のWaddingtonエアショーで地上展示及び飛行展示を行った、現存する唯一の飛行可能なバルカン"XH558"です。
これら細部写真を撮った日の午後も元気に飛行展示を行いました。本機はツヤ有りのグリーンとグレーの迷彩塗装に機体全面が塗られていました。
本機は現役時代の1982年に空中給油機（Vulcan K.Mk.2）に改造されましたが、1984年にNo.50飛行隊の解散に伴い現役から退きました。
2014年時点でも唯一の飛行可能なバルカンとして維持・整備されています。

I took these photos at Imperial War Museum at Duxford in July 2014.
It was a rare opportunity to be able to photograph the upper surfaces of the Vulcan's wing
from the the observation deck on the second floor.
The aircraft was displayed with its bomb bay in open position.
DuxfordのImperial War Museumに展示されているバルカンですが、本機はこの展示館が完成するまでは長年同博物館の屋外に展示されていました。
この展示館は内部の二階部分にも展示スペースが有り、二階の展望デッキからは１階フロアに展示されている機体が上から眺められます。
今回初めてバルカンの翼の上面をこの二階デッキから撮影することが出来ました。

Newark Air Museum

This Vulcan was displayed outdoors, but the condition
was not too bad. This a/c was built in 1963 and it was
transferred to the museum in 1983 soon after its withdrawal from the RAF service.
本機は1963年に完成し、退役後1983年に当博物館に
引き渡されています。機体は屋外に展示されており
塗装の退色が認められますが、保存状態はさほど悪く
はありません。
