When I went to Luftwaffe Air Base Furstenfeldbruck near Munich back in 1974, I was lucky enough to take some photos
of Noratlas in final approach at the end of the runway. It was my first and the last encounter to the Noratlas in active
military services. After that, I received a lot of color slides of Nord 2501 Noratlas from my correspondents in Europe during
the 70's and the early 1980's, and this good-looking transport became one of my most favourite aircraft.
Naturally, I wanted to build a model of the Noratlas (Heller in 1/72) and I decided looking for this a/c in museums in Europe.
I photographed a total of three Noratlas in museums in Gremany and in France during 2006-2008 and it is my pleasure to share
these walk-around photos with you in this webpage below. Additionally, I was so lucky to be able to see the Noratlas again
in July 2011 in Zeltweg (Austria) Airshow. The Noratlas attended the airshow was still flyable and it landed and taxied into
the display spot during the airshow. I uploaded some of these photos below.
I added some Noratlas photos on this page in March 2023.
I took these additional photos in Toulouse in 2018.(see the item "2" below)
1974年に西ドイツのFurstenfeldbruckの滑走路脇で写真を撮っていたら、いきなりノラトラが着陸してきて、えらく興奮
したのを今でも良く覚えています。残念ながらその肝心な一瞬は太陽が雲の中に隠れてしまい悔しい思いをしましたが。
それ以来『"ノラトラ"ファン』となってしまい、欧州の写真マニアから沢山のカラースライドを送ってもらいました。その後
プラモ作りを初めたら、勿論ノラトラを作りたくなったのですが、模型製作に不可欠な細部写真がなかなか見つかりません
こうなったら、自分で細部写真を撮るしかないなと思い、フランスとドイツの博物館で計３機のノラトラをつかまえました。
また、2011年のZeltwegエアショー(オーストリア)では、最後のフライアブルなノラトラが飛来し、これを撮影出来ましたが、
あまり近付けずちょっと遠くから撮影しました。当ホームページではこれらの写真を以下に掲載致します。

With kind support of the museum staff, I had a chance
to climb up onto the fuselage and wing, and also I was
escorted into the cockpit and the cargo cabin as well.
So, I was able to photograph all the details I need for
my future modeling project. I did find a tiolet at the
rear end of the fuselage.(Please see the photos below)
この博物館は空軍基地内に有り、事前にメールを送って
入場許可をいただきました。英語を話せる館員の方がこの
ノラトラを案内してくれました。翼の上でも写真を撮りたい、
とリクエストしたら一緒に上まで登ってくれました。
ノラトラの胴体や翼の上の細部写真はかなり珍しいと思います。また胴体後端のトイレや胴体上面の救命イカダ
収納庫等興味深い写真を撮ることが出来ました。

I photographed this Noratlas at a restoration facility next to the Airbus plant in Toulouse.
The condition of this aircraft is fairly good.
ツールーズのエアバス社の工場の隣にあるレストア施設に置いてあったノラトラを撮影しました。
保存状態はかなり良くて、かなりピカピカな状態でした。

#3) 62-SI #105 F-AZVM (ex-French AF) "still Airworthy"

This Noratlas was the only one flyable Noratlas and this
was displayed at Zeltweg airshow in July 2011. Unfortunately
I was not able to get closer to the aircraft to make detail
photos of all around the a/c. But still I did enjoy watching
this aircraft landing and taxing at Zeltweg.
2011年夏、オーストリアのツェルトヴェグエアショーに飛来
した唯一フライアブルなノラトラです。ここに掲載する写真は
飛来直後に展示エリア（エプロン）の端に誘導されてエンジン
を止めたところです。

#4) 99+14 (ex-Luftwaffe)

This ex-Luftwaffe Noratlas was preserved in good conditions
at the time of my photography with original paint and markings.
This a/c was painted in dark grey overall, so panel lines and
rivet lines were not clearly captured in my photographes
unfortunately.
ベルリン郊外の旧Gatow飛行場にあるルフトバッフェ博物館
に展示されているノラトラです。展示場所は滑走路の上です。
保存状態は塗装も含めてこの時点では非常に良かったです。
機体全面が暗いグレーの塗装であり、細部撮影には不向き
だったので、可能な範囲で光線の反射や陰影を利用して、
パネルライン等の細部を浮き立たせるように配慮しました。

#5) D-ACUT Elbeflug (ex-Luftwaffe 52+56)

This Noratlas was once operated by Luftwaffe as 52+56
and then she was transferred to to the German company
Elbeflug (EFL) with the civil regi D-ACUT. This a/c was
preserved and displayed in fairly good conditions when
I took these photos back in July 2008.
本機は元々西独空軍の所属で現役当時のシリアルは52+56
でした。退役後Elbeflug (EFL)社に買い取られて貨物輸送
機として民間レジD-ACUTを付けて運用されていました。
本機はEFL社当時の塗装のまま展示されていましたが、
保存状態は比較的良好でした。
